Uplive USA and Block Enterprise Foundation collaborating with “Buy the Block”

DALLAS, Feb. 27, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — UpliveUSA and Block Enterprise Foundation collaborated to broadcast “Buy the Block,” an event that features performances, panels, and a highlight chat with special guest, Nispey Hussel, a Grammy-nominated artist. This event is meant to spearhead donations and awareness for the Block Enterprise Foundation, a non-profit organization that assists residents in economically disadvantaged areas in Texas residents pay their property taxes.


Nipsey Hussel, born Ermias Asghedom, is a Los Angeles native and one of the most recognizable rappers out right now, with several renown mixtapes and songs, including “Bullets Ain’t Got No Names,” “All Money in Records,” “Marathon” and “Crenshaw.”

Hussel is known for his humor and took his stage name from black comedian Nipsey Russell. The West Coast rapper is revered by his fans for his bold approach toward music distribution, pricing his 2013 mixtape “Crenshaw” at $100 each. Hussel also possesses extremely strong business acumen, launching “The Marathon Agency” with business partners, Karen Civil, Jorge Peniche and Steven “Steve-O” Carless. Hussel has already capstoned his growing music career with Grammy nomination in 2018 for “Best Rap Album” with his debut album, “Victory Lap.”


“Buy the Block” was held at the Black Museum of Arts & Letters Theater in Dallas, Texas on February 21 from 6:00 pm to 9:00pm and more than 1000 guests attended at the venue, and thousands more via Uplive live streaming.
